Edward John David Redmayne OBE is a renowned English actor and model who has received numerous prestigious awards for his outstanding performances. He started his acting career in the West End theatre and later made his screen debut with guest appearances on television shows in 1996. Redmayne's first films were Like Minds, The Good Shepherd, and Elizabeth: The Golden Age, which he starred in during the mid-2000s. Redmayne's talent shone on stage, where he starred in the productions of Red and Richard II, winning the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for the former. His breakthrough in film came with his roles as Colin Clark in My Week with Marilyn and Marius Pontmercy in Les Misérables. He received consecutive nominations for the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayals of physicist Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything and transgender artist Lili Elbe in The Danish Girl, winning the award for the former.
